Aleppo pine

15 gallon Aleppo pine at 20 yrs.

Aleppo Pine (Pinus halepensis)
The Aleppo Pine is a moderately fast-growing conifer that can reach a mature height ranging from 30 - 60 feet with a canopy spread of 40 feet. Mature trunk diameters can range anywhere between 36 ndash; 48 inches. When this species of pine begins to approach maturity they can cause extensive hardscape damage unless they have ample space for surface roots. Mature specimens should be pruned every 4 years in an effort to maintain their current size and shape. Like the Canary Island Pine, the Aleppo is subject to attack by bark beetles, especially if they are over pruned, pruned during the summer or experiencing extreme drought stress.
