Jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia)
This is a semi-evergreen tree that reaches a mature height of 25 – 40 feet with a canopy spread of equal proportions. It can eventually develop a trunk diameter at up to 36 inches or greater under good growing conditions. As they mature they develop a natural lean that is typical of this species. They produce purple blossoms in the late spring. They should be pruned every 4 – 5 years, however they do not require excessive pruning and look better when allowed to grow to full size.
