With over 35 years of working for municipalities in southern California I have learned an important thing about public service; the public does not like surprises and they can react with force when they don't like the surprise.
As a Consulting Urban Forester I work with municipalities to help them maneuver their way through complex urban forestry issues such as controversial tree removals, tree view mitigation, tree risk assessments, vegetation management and public improvement projects. Through education and communication with the public, the goal is to turn a contentious and adversarial situation into a positive solution for the community as a whole.
I work with municipalities to help them develop an urban forest master plan that makes sense, is practical and has goals that are achievable with measurable results.
